Special Session VIII: AI-powered energy forecasting, control and operation  in smart grids

Session Chair: Researcher, Wei Deng, Institute of Electrical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China

Information: The rapid expansion of renewable and distributed energy is reshaping modern power systems, with a surge in demand for technologies such as intelligent prediction, control, and operation. As a highly interconnected network physical system, the smart grid requires the use of advanced technology to maintain the stability and operational efficiency of the power grid. This topic is aimed at researchers and developers of energy prediction, control, and operation technologies in smart grids. We are soliciting original research related to artificial intelligence, and particularly encourage reports on actual deployment in real smart grid environments, as well as contributions made by new methods, practical implementation, and system level integration.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

1. Electricity load forecasting
2. Renewable generation prediction
3. Forecasting under uncertainty using data-driven methods.
4. Intelligent control of AC or DC microgrid
5. Optimize operation and aggregate interaction in smart grids

Keywords: Smart Grid; AI; Forecasting; Control; Operation; Microgrid

Submission Deadline: October 10, 2026
