Special Session Ⅰ

Special Session I: Key Technologies and Development Trends of Large-Scale Renewables Integration

Session Chair: Prof. Chunyu Zhang, Taizhou University, China

Information: With the start of the 15th Five-Year Plan, under the guidance of the "dual carbon" strategy, China's renewable industry has achieved leapfrog development. The installed capacity of renewables has historically surpassed that of thermal power, entering a new stage of development. In the meanwhile, as the scale of renewables keeps growing and its share of electricity keeps rising, the pressure on the power system to accommodate it continues to increase, and securing land and space resources is becoming more challenging. There's an urgent need to change the way renewable energy is developed, built, and operated to achieve integrated and coordinated development. In this parallel forum, key technologies and suggestions can be explored for promoting the integrated development of renewables.
Topics:
  1. Improving the development level of multiple complementary types of renewables.
  2. Strengthening intensive and combined use of space for renewable energy development.
  3. Promoting the multi-sector integration and development of distributed energy resources.
  4. Stimulating integrated operations of renewables and power grids.
Submission Deadline: October 10, 2026
